  16. I am having a problem between a Linux 2.0.1 server and a 2400 baud
  17. modem. In kermit I am setting the port speed to 2400 and setting the
  18. handshaking to the required xon/xoff (which the dial up server
  19. requires). Also parity is set to none.  
  20.  
  21. I then dial out using the standard ATDT commands.
  22.  
  23. The modem connects and echos the CONNECT back to the terminal, but
  24. immediately after this garbage is printed. 
  25.  
  26. Can any-one suggest something I may be doing wrong?  Do I have to
  27. program the modem to use xon/xoff or is this done when using the set
  28. handshaking on command.
